Digital Learning Platform
The Digital Learning Platform is designed to integrate the existing planned curriculum with the instructional technologies available in the Ridley School District. This integration creates the opportunity for teachers and students to engage in a hybrid-learning environment. We are looking to fundamentally change teaching and learning by moving to a differentiated learning experience. The experience is meant to personalize instruction to the needs of an individual student in order for the student to achieve to a measured standard.
Teachers develop the integrated lessons through Instructure’s Canvas Learning Management System. Canvas allows teachers to work with a dynamic electronic lesson delivery system. All courses that students receive in the classroom are made available in this digital mode. Teachers and students can access lessons while in class or any other location. The asynchronous occurrence provides multiple possibilities for student engagement. Written, video, and audio resources are organized around the lesson objective for student learning. Assignments and assessments can flow between teacher and student. Live streaming of the classroom is not available for individual students.
