Special Notice:
Ridley School District property owners are in the process of receiving a new assessment notice from the County of Delaware. The new assessment figure does not take effect until the 2021 tax year.
Delaware County, not your municipality or school district, determines your assessment.
If you think the amount on your notice does not reasonably reflect the value of your home for resale, we encourage you to call Tyler Technologies (the company under contract with Delaware County to provide the assessments) at 888-773-7056 as soon as possible to schedule an informal hearing to review your new assessment. As your notice indicates, you have ten (10) days from the mailing date of the notice to request the informal hearing. Formal appeals may be filed after July with the Delaware County Board of Assessment Appeals.
Ridley School District will not receive property assessment information until November or December of 2020. Without this information, the district cannot determine how the new assessment will impact your taxes. Some property owners will experience a decrease and some an increase.
The district’s current millage rate will NOT be applied to your new assessment. A new millage rate will be established.
