1. Students must obey the driver and be courteous. The driver is in full charge of the bus and students and has the authority to assign seats to maintain discipline.
2. Students must be on time; buses cannot wait for those who are late. Student I. D. cards must be shown to the driver before boarding the vehicle.
3. Students should never stand or play on the road while waiting for the bus. Students must not try to get on or off the bus when it is in motion. When on the bus, they must remain seated until the bus has come to a complete stop.
4. Before boarding the bus, students must keep a safe distance from it while it is in motion.
5. Students must enter the bus without crowding or disturbing others and occupy their seats immediately.
6. Students must keep out of the driver's seat.
7. Unnecessary conversation with the driver is prohibited while the bus is in motion.
8. In approaching the bus or a bus stop along the highway, a student should always walk on the left side of the road facing traffic. He/she should be certain that the road is clear of all traffic or that all traffic has stopped before crossing. Upon leaving the bus, he/she should walk 10 feet to the front of the bus and stop before crossing. He should make certain that the road is clear of all traffic or that all traffic has come to a complete stop before crossing. In crossing the street or highway at any time, students should first look left, then right, then left again.
9. Talking should be at normal conversation tones.
10. Students may not extend head or arms out of the windows.
11. Students must not call out to passers-by.
12. Students may not leave the bus except at their regular designated bus stop or school, unless prior written approval is secured from the Administration Building.
13. Students should help to keep the bus clean, sanitary, and orderly. They must not damage or abuse equipment.
14. Students are not permitted to smoke while on the bus. No eating or drinking on vehicles unless prior approval is obtained from the Transportation Supervisor.
15. Students must not use profanity.
16. Students must not throw articles of any kind in, out, or around the bus.
17. Students are to conduct themselves while on the bus in such a way that it will not distract the driver from his job of driving.
18. Student cooperation is mandated during Emergency Evacuation Drills.
Riding the school bus is both a right and a privilege. A student who does not respect the rights of others and endangers his life and the lives of others will be suspended from riding.
For major discipline infractions (those that could result in physical harm to passengers or drivers or destruction of property, i.e., smoking, striking matches, improper opening of doors, throwing objects, fighting, etc.), bus riding privileges will be suspended on the first offense; charges for damages will be made and legal proceedings may be initiated. Second offenders face expulsion of bus privileges.
For minor discipline infractions (those not resulting in physical harm or destruction of property, i.e., failure to take seats or stay seated, loud noises, littering, etc.), pupils will be referred to the principal for appropriate disciplinary action.

IDENTIFICATION CARD/BUS PASS
All students who ride the Ridley School District buses to and from school, will be issued a transportation identification card or bus pass. Students will be required to present the card upon request by School District Officials or Transportation Personnel.
THIS CARD/BUS PASS IS NOT TRANSFERABLE
Please carry it with you at all times. If the identification card/bus pass it lost, students should report to your principal?s office for instructions about obtaining another card.
