Welcome to the Ridley School District's Special Education Department. Ridley believes that a student's well being and achievement through our student support services is a high priority. Among the various support services, Special Education has a unique role in carrying out this important purpose for students with disabilities. What is Special Education?
A child with a disability has a right to special education and related searches that are provided:
- At public expense
- Under public supervision and direction
- Without charge to parents
- In conformity with an Inpidualized Education Program (I.E.P.), which means that students with disabilities who need special education must receive a free appropriate public education (F.A.P.E) in the Least Restrictive environment (L.R.E).
